Tanning ads are limited in NY

Hopefully, this case will prevent tanning bed companies throughout the United States from blatantly lying about the serious negative health effects of tanning beds.

We know that just ONE indoor tanning session increases the chances of developing melanoma by 20 percent, and each additional session during the same year boosts the risk almost another two percent you need to make sure that tanning bed companies are not spouting lies like:

“If you want to reduce cancer by as much as 80 percent, you want to reduce the risk of heart disease, you want to reduce diabetes, reduce obesity, reduce mental health disorders, then all you need to do is get people into the tanning booths in the winter months combined with good nutrition.”

or the Susan Korman breast cancer advocacy group “doesn’t want you to know the truth about tanning booths because if women were in tanning booths they wouldn’t be growing breast cancer tumors during the winter months.”

I personally have seen both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer occur in very young patients so I really hope that tanning beds throughout the United States are further regulated just like cigarettes.
